It’s time to take one intentional step toward your well-being today
Providing quality counselling services to those experiencing mental health related challenges
About Me
My name is Melanie Lind, and I am a Registered Social Worker with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master of Clinical Social Work from the University of Calgary. I’m a born and raised Calgarian who spent 12 years working in the Oil & Gas industry before choosing to return to school to pursue my passion for counselling. I am married and have two children, ages 9 and 11, who love hockey. When I’m not at the rink, I enjoy spending time with friends, reading a good book and going for walks.
I understand the toll that work stress, parenting responsibilities, and challenging relationships can take on both our emotional and physical well-being. Fear and self-doubt begin to make even simple decisions feel overwhelming and leave us feeling as if we’re gradually losing touch with who we are. Over time, we can lose sight of our own needs, values, and what truly matters to us.
It’s time to take one small, intentional step toward yourself and your well-being. I believe that through a compassionate, honest, and an accepting therapeutic relationship we can find our way back to who we are and learn to live a more authentic, meaningful, and purpose-driven life.
I have experience and a passion for working with clients in areas such as anxiety, stress, parenting and navigating life transitions. I also have experience supporting clients who are managing depression, grief, trauma and relationship challenges.
Finding someone you connect with is important, that’s why I offer a free, 15-minute, no obligation consultation. Call/text me today at 403-617-8629 or email me at melanieannlind@gmail.com
I look forward to hearing from you!

My Counselling Approach
You are unique and that’s why my approach is suited specifically to you and your needs. We will work together to identify your goals, envision a new future and how to get there. Some of the strategies I may use to support you on your journey to wellness include:
Our tendency is to push away uncomfortable emotions and thoughts in order to avoid pain. Unfortunately, this approach often backfires and can actually intensify what we experience. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) teaches us to accept difficult thoughts and emotions instead of fighting them, which reduces their control over our lives. ACT also guides us to clarify our personal values and take purposeful actions that align with those values, helping to create a more meaningful, value-driven life. It has been proven effective in treating anxiety, depression, chronic pain, OCD, and more.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Through childhood experiences, societal messages, and a variety of other influences, we frequently learn to ignore our emotions and rely primarily on our thoughts to inform and guide us. Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) treats emotions as important messengers and helps us to uncover and process them rather than suppress them. This approach teaches us how to have greater emotional intelligence, develop secure attachments, and shift away from negative patterns. EFT has been shown to be effective for coping with anxiety, navigating grief, processing trauma, improving relationships and more.
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Our thoughts have the power to influence how we feel, and in turn our feelings influence what we do and how we behave. What we do then reinforces those thoughts, and the cycle continues. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) teaches us how to interrupt and break that cycle by first noticing automatic, ruminative thoughts and then using practical skills to challenge and change them. CBT works to create new neural networks in our brains to promote healthier thinking styles. It has been shown to be effective for a wide range of mental health concerns — including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, chronic pain, and more.
